Space.City

I have dedicated much of my free time to Seattle based, art and architecture focused non-profit organization Spaee.City working with the marketing team as a design assitsant. Helping plan content for the social media and collaborativly produce branding material, I helped produce an identity that aided in creating a platform for artists, designers, and architects to share their creative innovations and groundbreaking ideas with the public.

Atelierjones

I had the pleasure of working with award-winning architecture studio atelierjones to reenvision, refresh, and reinspire the firm’s ditigal presence. By inviting the viewer into the behind the scenes by way of utilizing a “sketch board” design approach and effective storytelling through detailed project descriptions and heightened usage of models, we were able display the studios successes and pioneering designs in way that tells their story in a much more fruitful fashion.

Common Scents

These mock ups I designed are the actualization of a branding idea I have been playing with for some time.  Fragrance in all its forms has always been a personal love of mine, so I wanted to explore what my own interpretation of a fragarance product would be. I find home fragrance to be impactful because it non-verbally communicates a story of your home and space, so I have been brainstorming a brand that focuses on artful, bespoke fragrances without that barrier of unnecessary prestige and emphasis on simple yet unique scents. Therefore, this idea takes the form of incense (and possibly more) to be more accessible yet different form the typical fragrance parlay of a candle.

Idolatry

Using the traditional and ubiquitious form of the rice paper lantern, an object that warmly sheds light upon one’s inner self within their private space, these complicated and imperfect lanterns come together to form how I see myself sans the judgement of onlookers. To echo the change in my personal perception I chose to work with a form that had the possibility to utilize the techniques I have built up over the years while still pushing myself to take on a new delivery. Each lantern uses different painting, printing, or assemblage techniques to echo varied facets of myself that I wish to examine and display, going from a more socially enforced and informed view of self to looking at more amorphous and personal definitions of self.
